But this was exactly the sense of acceptance that I felt within the Kalimpong community.     An Afghan woman stands breastfeeding her child while waiting in line to receive aid from the Missionaries of Charity – better known as the Mother Teresa nuns. The nuns who have lived in Kabul since 2004 help almost 300 Afghan families they have personally visited and found to be in dire need. Afghanistan has no welfare system to support the poor, nor does it have any public acceptance of Christianity in the form of physical churches or similar. Famous for it's unexplained flames burning through centuries, this holy place has seen even the great Mughal emperor, Akbar, walk barefoot for almost 550 km to come and pay his homage. I took this shot at the havan-kund, which is in the premises of the main temple. While waiting for the smoke in the havan to intensify, i noticed this child come and very religiously do the usual practice of offering prasad at the havan-kund. This is one of the many pictures i took of him and never in all those clicks he looked at me, nor did the sound of the camera distract him.
