    Notting Hill Carnival - Notting Hill, London. For me this shit captures what carnival was all about - the wet yet warm air creating a steam like atmosphere above the streets. What an event to be part of and will continue coming back each year. by: phoneeurope Views[778] Maiko's like Geisha's are in demand and appointments must be adhered to. As soon as an allotted appointment is finished the Maiko or Geisha will escort her guests to a downstairs bar, she will ensure the room is cleared and her guests are being looked after. The Maiko is required to converse with the client as he carries out his business. She must make him feel welcome and privileged at all times. This also means she must monitor proceedings in the room. A Maiko will usually position herself so she can ensure everyone is having a great time. If conversation dwindles whilst she is occupied she will order up a new round of drinks. Knowing and mastering a number of games to lighten the mood of a tense business meeting is only a small art the Maiko's have to learn. As conversation continues Toshisumi will entertain herself with one of her games. If she senses a lull in proceedings or if tempers are running high she will interject and begin playing a game with a guest.     The King of Streets! by: gargisarkar Views[743] Brick Lane: brick lane is a must visit if you're in london. The place is lively with many indian restaurants, spanish restaurants and italian restaurants. It's colourful and exciting. It's mostly known for it's beautiful street art. The one above is an illustration of such. It hit me personally because as it may be street art to one's eye...it's something more profound to another. The door and the windows are painted with bright colours, leaving what's inside to be a dark secret.     The process in Ban Thasawang, a village weaving silk for the elites, is much more complicated than on the semi-automatic loom. It requires four to five people working together on one piece of fabric. Even though they work as a team, one person always sits below the ground level.
