    Tower of London: 100 Year Memorial for WWI by: laurenstrong Views[386] St. Paul's Cathedral: A climb to the top by: laurenstrong Views[305] Brick Lane: brick lane is a must visit if you're in london. The place is lively with many indian restaurants, spanish restaurants and italian restaurants. It's colourful and exciting. It's mostly known for it's beautiful street art. The one above is an illustration of such. It hit me personally because as it may be street art to one's eye...it's something more profound to another. The door and the windows are painted with bright colours, leaving what's inside to be a dark secret. Kind of like most of our personalities...we all show happiness but share those dark, sad moments with those who only have a key to our door. by: subranu Views[1160] The London Tube - the london tube transports people within the city. The city is a big one. The tube not only blends cultures through the means of people, but also music. If it's not someone taping away to the beats of the song playing through his ear phones, it's the people playing their violins at guitars at the tube stations. Many people think the tube is morbid and mundane. But look closely and observe people...many of them are touritsts, travelers, musicians, business men, students, teachers...a blend of all common professions and passions. by: subranu Views[1177] Ice and Fire - the one thing that holds common for all cultures from across the world is basic human emotions.     Paddington Station, London - Travel to many people means many different things. To me, it's all about culture. London, in general, is city with diverse cultures and ethnicities. And Paddington is a place where you are bound to come across people from all over: Indians, Germans, French, Italian, Spanish, Welsh and so on. by: subranu Views[909] Traveling throughout the English countryside we stumbled upon Lake District. With the use of my 50mm lens “Unoccupied” was produced encompassing one of the lakes, a duck, and the chair. This shot illustrates the beauty that can be found in random places in the UK and I love it for just that. by: rpmitchell Views[495] After being to London once I knew going back that I had to get a great shot of a London taxi and a double decker bus in one picture. Attempt after attempt came this picture shot with my 50mm again. I love it because it illustrates the importance these two symbolic pieces have in the country. Rarely seen elsewhere this picture of both vehicles together is just great. by: rpmitchell Views[656] On our many excursions throughout my semester abroad one stop was at the Howard Castle just outside of York, England. On the property was this small pond, bridge, and building display that was irresistible. After taking a few pictures and getting the composition right I had one of my favorite taken abroad. by: rpmitchell Views[454] Visiting Beatrix Potter’s former residence, famous from her series “Peter Rabbit”, made for an excellent experience. Behind the house was a cabbage patch that contained this combination of structure.     A night scene photograph of Oxford Street in front of Marble Arch in London. by: schwepps Views[689] Venturing Across the Pond: I will never forget the day I stumbled upon St. James Park in London while it was pouring rain. Luckily, I had my umbrella because of my knowledge of London weather; however, it was the first time since I had arrived that it was absolutely pouring rain, and I just happened to be in the middle of a large and open park. However, it was one of my favorite moments of the trip. I suppose it was because of the loud noise of the rain combined with the ironic quietness that came with it. There was no one else in the entire park; I had the beautiful area to myself, if you don't count the swans and pelicans, that is. I wandered aimlessly through the vicinity, and when I walked up one hill, I found myself on the grounds of Buckingham Palace for the first time. The rain then let up, and the most beautiful sunset appeared. This photograph is standing in front of Buckingham Palace looking over the pond that lies in the park.
