Monsoon in India is a time of extremes, joys and hardships both. While the nice weather gives much needed respite from the long hard summer, rains spells doom for people whose life is dependent on the crowd on streets. The lake, a short drive away from Huancayo in the central Andes, has become a fixture for local day trips and fishermen. Houseboat restaurants serve trout on the shore, though since the economic recession less tourists have come visiting. Walking there from nearby Jauja, I met some local residents with whom I sat down to enjoy the sunset. These fleeting encounters will stay with me all my life, even if I don't remember their names.     Darwin's foreshore is partially covered by the most amazing and colorful rock formations you can imagine. It just adds to the colors of the ocean and the skies experienced here in the top end. But when I took this photo of a rock pool within the rock formation , I realised that the reflection made these amazing figures within the photo. This photo is a challenge and you can get lost in it. But first just look into it, then look even deeper into it....look for the faces. Then turn your head left and look at the faces that way. Then turn your head and look for the perfectly reflected kangaroo and other faces created by the rocks. No matter where I walked - over a bridge, along a canal, sitting by the water's edge, there was a gondolier and his gondola, taking lovebirds or a giddy group of friends drinking up the beautiful sights on their tour. I saw this unmanned gondola and stopped to admire the detail of its craftsmanship.
