    Men wearing red hats mean they’re married. Those with coloured hats are considered to be important or old people. At the party they drink beer and PURE sugar cane alcohol. Of course they end up completely drunk and I was told it's pretty common to see them sleeping all over the fields, straight under the sunlight. And it was only the 2nd day of celebration! by: danielotta Views[1506] According to their ancient laws and traditions, the couple getting married are not allowed to stand up or dance, but guests can! The husband and wife must remain sitting while everyone celebrates. They don't use invitations, all the people in the island (about 2.200) must go to the wedding party. The ray of light are caught by the trees and made this beautiful scene. Locals like to let their chicken pet running freely through the fields.     This is Mr. Nik. He lives a few blocks away, but his family owns a cane field behind my neighbourhood. The cane are harvest once in a year. After it's being harvested, the remaining plants have to be burnt before the farmers could plant the new plants. Mr. Nik works as a factory labor on week days and takes care of his field on Sundays. by: lieshabear Views[895] The effects of a growing city is the growth of the housing which can expand to the far side of the city. Most affordable housing are small houses, built from what used to be a farming field. Some field still existing between those houses, like this chili field that is being harvest by Lastri. She is one of the locals that lives behind my neighbourhood and still owns her family field.     The Dawn Arrival: After more than a week of sailing day and night from Vanuatu the fleet of Te Mana o Te Moana arrives in the Solomon Islands. The fleet of 7 Vaka Moana reef their sails and await the dawn welcoming ceremony with thousands of locals gathered on the beach.
