    The promenade in Sea Point is one of my favorite places to walk alone. People of all kinds jog, exercise, walk their dogs or idle their cars in parking lots next to the ocean to watch the sunset. Right now, the platform from which this photo was taken is being excavated to rebuild the sea wall - construction crews uncovered hundreds of old glass bottles and ceramics from what used to be an old rubbish tip. by: loverock Views[872]

    Despite the language barrier, I taught a few children how to make a paper helicopter while they waited another day in a bomb shelter so their parents can work. Schools in the town of Askelon were shut down because of constant rocket fire. I felt great until I left, knowing the kids had to remain in the shelters beyond my enjoyable time with them.: by trekkerj, Views[296]
