As we arrived in Kathmandu, the city was grinding to a halt under the strain of widespread protests over petrol price hikes. I captured this protester as our concerned driver tried to navigate the maze of closed roads and fire barricades. The relaxed face of the protestor contrasts with the urgency of the scene, and tells the story of an impoverished city in which protests are all too commonplace.
