The Children's Memorial standing in memory of all the children who lost their lives as a result of the atomic bombing. Originally inspired by Sadako Sasaki who was exposed to the radiation from the bomb and developed leukaemia. Her aim was to fold 1000 paper cranes, to have her wish granted, for world peace.
