The Pilcomayo river, which separates Argentina from Bolivia and Paraguay, should run vigorously through this very spot. Instead, it's just a tiny stream to the left during most of the year, leaving behind this desert wasteland haunted by dirt storms. The surreal feel of the place is completed by the seemingly identical girls and their furiously red skirts. As with all the indigenous women of the region, talking to them only made them giggle as a result of shyness.
