    A street within the ancient city of Pingyao ~ the wall is possibly the last remaining intact city wall in all of China, and the warren-like maze of alleys and avenues inside has remained unchanged since the Ming Dynasty.          		 This tea shop, just downstairs from Caitlin and Alex's place, is so cool. HUGE bins of loose tea ~ green, jasmine, chrysanthemum...the varieties are endless.          		 The biggest portrait of Mao I have ever seen hangs from the Gate of Heavenly Peace, leading into the Forbidden City. This gate looks out over Tiananmen, and Mao often used this vantage point to survey troops and rallys in the Square.: by lolo, Views[367]

    Out front of Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, just behing Tiananmen Square. I've never felt so conspicuously white before ~ I was definately the only westerner in line to see his body. I was blown away, though, by how intensely admired this man still is. People were moved to tears, and bowing to his statue. Amazing.: by lolo, Views[1160]
