A remote mining community was forcibly removed from their homes to make way for Chinese nationals who took over the mines.  The new mining techniques poisoned the river the locals depended on, killing herds and humans alike.  Poverty has since replaced prosperity. In the end, the Chinese never resided in the community, the residents still live in the tent city that arose nearby as a result of the eviction, and life has changed forever for the villagers.
