Our trip to Africa stemmed from my mum wanting to revisit where she was born 58 years ago. This picture was taken in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy near the Porini Mara Camp; both places my grandparents would have visited in 1953. We found this female Cheetah 'Nabiki' dozing under a tree. Nabiki means 'long life' in Swahili, which was ironic as she was also known to be a 'bad mother' - having 2 sets of cubs both of which sadly died. She was our first Cheetah sighting of the trip and we hung around long enough to catch a yawn - giving me this shot.: by alliesharpe, Views[158]
