So here's the Derwent bridge again. If you look 4 pillars along from the left, you can see where it's a bit fatter.  A ship crashed into it in 1975 and took out that whole section.  It took three years to repair and the city had to rely on a much smaller bridge 10kms north from here. (the one I had to use on the bike).
