    Elephants are giant guys and they must eat a lot of food per day so mahouts usually wake up in the midnight to take sugar-cane (kind of favourite food) for them. by: binhdang Views[590] A mahout is jumping on back of elephants. After a hard working day for training, practicing, trekking… elephants always are relaxed by bathing on a river or a stream. by: binhdang Views[504] These images belong to my photo essay about the mahout's family living in the forest of Chiang Mai - Thailand. There was a chance for me to learn about the relationship between mahouts and their elephants in a short time - 3 days and also was enjoyed new experiences. The man is a mahout who is training and practicing for his elephant to pass through forest. This image belongs to my photo essay about the mahout’s family living in the forest of Chiangmai. In this project I had a chance to learn about the relationship between mahouts and their elephants in a short time - 3 days. Instead of observing others at The Musuem of Contemporary Art in Sydney, I turned the lens on my own personal interaction with one of Anish Kapoor’s reflective works. Making myself part of the art experience. The reflective environment provided by the artist and the composition captured by the photographer. A little collaboration between me and Anish Kapoor (This photo was taken with an iPhone) by: clarebardsleysmith Views[490] (4) Anish Kapoor is one of the most recognisable contemporary artists in the world today. The Museum of Contemporary Art is featuring some of his works for the first time in the gallery. This photograph looks not only at Kapoor’s reflective work ‘The Sydney Eye’, it also looks at what an object is, in relation to other things. In this case, Kapoor’s circular work reflecting the sky around Sydney, is juxtaposed against the solid square matt mass of the museum itself. It is fitting because Kapoor’s work looks at ideas of form, voids and content, and how an object can be and not be. I was particularly pleased to catch this moment of two workers shining the great reflective surface, preparing the work for the public gaze, themselves becoming a piece of art in my photograph.     Along the Oregon coast there are a plethora of Himalayan Blackberries. They are considered an invasive species but are quite delicious. I found these berries growing over the door of an abandoned building. It reminded me just how quickly nature can reclaim what it has lost. The door seems simple, but we are the only species that has created the door, so to me it symbolizes civilization. The berries are invasive, but who invaded who first?: by theeyesofike, Views[262]
