    As a summer well spent draws to an end, so does my journey in Yellowstone National Park. I had not experienced the beauty of Mother Nature by myself but with friends, whom we hiked, worked, and enjoyed this adventure together. 100 miles is not the end, but a small step towards bigger beginnings. by: terence1991 Views[481] As the hiking trails around Old Faithful area were all conquered, the next hike was with my colleagues further up north. On our way back just before dusk, a Bull Elk was spotted grazing on the grass below its feet at the shore of Yellowstone Lake. Moments after my camera shutter was released it returned to the forest, but it was the opportunity taken which makes the difference. by: terence1991 Views[454] Castle Geyser’s eruptions are predicted at an approximate 8 hour interval, but the next eruption was unpredictable as there had been a minor eruption. It was nature’s special performance as the full moon, wind direction, and the clear sky created a lunar rainbow formed in the mist of the eruption despite a 4 hour delay. The long wait under the harsh weather was well rewarded with nature’s special gift for me that night. by: terence1991 Views[668] Tripod was ever ready for a photo with Jeff Vanuga after Castle Geyser’s eruption. Jeff is a great friend and also a great inspiration to me. He is currently heading a National Geographic workshop in Wyoming whom we met in the park a year ago. ‘Remember, never stop shooting!’ was his farewell message before leaving on his next assignment. by: terence1991 Views[678] Yellowstone National Park is the first national park in the United States, renowned for its geothermal features and diverse wildlife. As a park employee on a student summer work and travel program, hiking was the usual off-day activity for me. During my first midnight hike, Old Faithful Geyser indulged me with a taste of nature under a perfect moon. by: terence1991 Views[464]
