         		 As one travels the one road into Devonport they pass two long lines of trees on both sides of the road. Each tree was planted for an individual member of Devonport who gave their life during the war. In front of each tree is a small white block with a copper plaque that has World War 2 inscribed along the top and the members name at the bottom.     One of the gun emplacements still standing in Devonport near the HMNZS Philomel, the home of the New Zealand Navy. Once more this gun looks out across the Waitemata harbour towards auckland city, and was built during the War.          		 Looking out to sea across the Hauraki Gulf from Northhead we see the sun rising behind Rangitoto Island, another New Zealand icon.          		 One of the corridors that run underground at Northead. These tunnels were built during the war to look out to sea and also facing the city. While many that often led to gun emplacements are now blocked off, a few are still open to the public to explore.          		 Cape Farewell, located west of Farewell Spit and 160km from Nelson, which is the headland of South Island New Zealand. I paid my visit days before I departed to my homeland, Malaysia. I guessed it was destined, so that I could have a good farewell with New Zealand, a land full of wonders! One need days to see it, but needs a lifetime to understand it.     Milford Sound is a must-go place when you visit Fiordland National Park, located in South West of New Zealand. Milford Sound is a fjord and it only has few sunny days in a year as it's known as the wettest inhabited place in New Zealand, depends on one's luck.          		 Cathedral Cove is one of the attractions on the Coromandel Peninsula in North Island New Zealand. The cathedral-shape rock arc is a symbol of Cathedral Cove. The cave and the beach was used as the tunnel through which the Pevensie children first re-enter Narnia in the movie version of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.          		 The colorful Champagne Pool located at Waitomo New Zealand is a 700 year old explosion crater filled with hot water spring. It has steep sides and 62 metres deep. The orange colored edge contains arsenic and antimony sulphur compounds rich in minerals including gold and silver.          		 It was evening in the Autumn, where the trees are getting ready for winter, changing themselves with yellow leaves. The beautiful scenery of Lake Tekapo is a place like Heaven on Earth. I'm lucky enough to visit this wonderful place. Lake Tekapo, the Church of Good Shepherd, mountains, golden sun rays, blue sky, clouds and the breeze were complementing each other perfectly. The emerald blue lake has a special element at the bed of the lake, called “rock dust”, which gives it nice bluish tone. It's a germ of South Island New Zealand.          		 A memorial consisting 185 empty chairs, each unique to represent the people who died in the February 2011 earthquake. It's easy to become over whelmed by the structural damage in the city, especially as a visitor.          		 25 months after the 6.3 earthquake struck Christchurch on February 22, 2011, the effects are still strikingly visible. After arriving into the city I made my way to the CBD and started to explore the red zone, areas of the city still closed off to the public. The damage was shocking. It is one thing to watch news reports on TV, but walking amongst the reality of it was surreal. It was hard not to feel as if I was walking on a movie set, this was so far beyond anything I had ever experienced. It was all very interesting and sad at the same time.
