    “CAN YOU HEAR ME?” Sharing my favourite place with my brother; Waitarere Forest [2 of 3] In Waitarere’s forest it’s dark, cold, damp and quite. It feels like you could walk forever on the pine needle floor and never get to the endof the forest. As a child playing in this forest, I loved hearing the echoes of my voice after I had yelled something. I told Scott to run ahead and scream “can you hear me?” he did and I heard the multiple echoes that came after. Echoes always have fascinated me; hearing your own voice carry on. It always makes me feel like they wouldn't stop till everyone had heard, what you had said. I have not edited any of my photos, I love them to much as they are.          		 “I AM FREE” Sharing my favourite place with my brother; Waitarere Forest [1 of 3] This is my brother Scott. He is very tall and thin for 13 just like the trees you see surrounding him. As a child I remember playing in this forest with my cousins. I enjoyed it tremendously. I love how whenever I walk into this place my breath is immediately taken away and I'm lost within the trees; I am free. Wherever I am in this forest I can hear the beach close by. I can hear the waves crashing against the shore and the wind moving freely through the trees. It always clears my mind and I always feel revitalised. It was only last weekend I was finally allowed to share this experience with Scott and like me he loves it. I have not edited any of my photos, I love them to much as they are.     The glacier provided some stunning sights along the way. On the way back down to the base, the group walks past a deep pool of aqua coloured water. Such pools are created by large rocks that cascade down from mountain slops and rest on the glacier. Rocks absorb the heat from the sun and melt the glacier ice to create the void which fills with fresh water.: by jayant, Views[242]

         		 Fox Glacier is a 13 kms long glacier on the west cost of New Zealand's South Island. All groups visiting this glacier need to be briefed with health and safety instructions. This group prepares for their adventure on ice with a briefing from their leader.     Tawharanui is a predator free mainland island; keeping pests like weasels and rats out can be a challenge, however having the entire peninsular fenced and bailted has made this regional park a haven for New Zealand's wildlife and enable the successful reintroduction of some endangered wildlife like the North Island Kiwi.: by tristancullen, Views[377]
         		 The coastline is never ending and waiting to be explored. Some of these rock formations have fossils in them from the Jurassic period.          		 Touching my soul...fulfilment in the Paparoa’s. I know of no greater reflective time than the setting of the sun. Another day has run its course and my daily exertions, mixed with millions of others, are resting quietly as the sun lowers itself gently over the horizon. The life of a nomad may be simple, but the rewards are of more significance than a weekly pay check, they are a tangible memory that lasts. Forever. For being able to experience the richness of life, the fullness of beauty and to touch the inner peace of my soul, I am grateful.     Hearing my soul...listening to silence in Lewis Pass. Sleeping in is a well enjoyed pastime yet 5:30am in the morning found this delight. Resting is important...but an advantage can always be found in being willing to do what most will not. The lesson for me here is to go the extra step, for just beyond where the masses stop is endless miles of untold magnificence. Milford is a place that attracts thousands of tourists every year...yet it can be a lonely place to work in the outdoors, miles from any civilized town.          		 Smelling my soul...Abel Tasman National Park. This is one of my favourite places in the entire world and the salty sea air will forever remind me of the most serene moments spent in this largely untouched paradise. The natural beauty leaves me breathless every time, yet these Cormorants are going about their day with little mind to the precious rarity of their surroundings.          		 Finding my soul was a process of experiencing the totally of all my senses, being willing to expand myself, push my boundaries and to act on my dreams. This is the result. Tasting my soul: Temple Basin in the snow. I used to avoid the cold; it reminded me too much of what it felt like to be empty inside. This journey taught me that the biting taste of ice cold every day gave me a sharp reminder that I was indeed, alive. Here, I learnt to appreciate that beauty can be found in the coldest of places and the smallest conveniences can bring the greatest delight.
