on Cat Ba at this time of year – in the off-peak season lovely hotels are found

We stayed at Shantara in Davidson Street, close to the town
of Port Douglas.
We hired a Getz from Jam Jar Car Hire for 2 days and drove
to Palm Cove, Mareeba, Mosman Gorge, through the Daintree rain forest and on to
Cape Tribulation.
